On Stand A9, Hall 1 at OMC, the Offshore Marine Conference, Ravenna, Italy 29 – 31 March 2017, E2S Warning Signals, the world’s leading independent manufacturer of ATEX and IECEx approved audible and visual warning signals, are presenting the latest developments in their extensive range of explosion proof, hazardous location and intrinsically safe audible and visual warning devices for the onshore and offshore oil and gas industry. Amongst the new product releases will be the DNV approved and MED compliant signals for fire and general signalling use in marine applications.
For corrosive environments E2S will be showcasing their 'STEx' family of IECE and ATEX approved warning signals, call points and junction box, all featuring 316L stainless steel enclosures. Also on show are the 'GNEx' GRP enclosure warning signals, call points and junction box which are IECEx, ATEX & EAC Ex approved for Zone 1, 2, 21 and 22.
Additional audible and visual warning signals include the 'D1x' family , approved for Class I/II Division 1, Zone 1 and Zone 20 environments and the compact, high performance 'D2x' and 'E2x' signals, globally approved to UL, cULs, ATEX & IECEx standards for Division 2 and Zone 2 and 22 applications.
For 25 years (since 1992) E2S Warning Signals have specialised in the design and manufacture of high performance audible and visual signals for commercial, industrial, marine and hazardous locations. The output module provides eight open collector, non-monitored outputs for internal relay or LED operation in a cabinet. The module is easily plugged onto a mounting rail inside the AutroSafe fire alarm control panel BS-420 or the controller BC-420.
The output terminal sinks to 0V when activated. 24V is available on the screw terminals. The module will automatically detect its own address; no Dip-switch or jumper settings are required.

The inputs have a common connection to an external source, 24V DC. Each input is activated by pulling the terminal to 0V, typically by an open collector output. The module will automatically detect its own address, no Dip-switch or jumper settings are required. The module is intended to be mounted in a closed cabinet. Ambient light should be avoided.

Modbus converter for interfacing various PLC equipment to AutroSafe.
The Modbus converter BSL-330 is an RS232/422/485 interface converter used to interface various PLC equipment (Programmable Logic Controllers) to the AutroSafe interactive fire detection system. The converter is both a physical and a logic protocol converter. At the physical connection level, it transforms an RS232 connection to an RS485 or RS422 connection. This is convenient as this type of connection is safer in noisy environments. RS232 is available as an option.
The converter is connected to the AutroSafe via the AutroCom protocol. It communicates with both protocols by means of the conversion software. A master Modbus device polls the BSL-330 converter for reading its registers. It expects a response within a defined time period. Communication can be over various serial mediums. The one used here is the Modbus RTU protocol over an RS485 link (RS232).
The BSL-330 is available in four versions:
  • BSL-330/1: AutroSafe Modbus converter slave RS485
  • BSL-330/2: AutroSafe Modbus converter master RS485
  • BSL-330/3: AutroSafe Modbus converter slave RS232
  • BSL-330/4: AutroSafe Modbus converter master RS232
